The README file also mentioned the driver was merged to kernel 4.12 so just install a later kernel from backports should work.

To install, you need to build the driver module with make/makeinstall (you can search how to do that). (As I mentioned in the previous post about linux driver for HP laptop). Since first time I use my laptop, never once I depend on the wifi connection. For low wifi signal problem in latest Ubuntu derivative, please check this post.
